Advice & Guidance NVQ Level 2, 3 & 4

Qualifications for workers and practitioners who provide welfare advice, guidance and advocacy to a variety of clients.

A qualification in Advice and Guidance offers you the opportunity to work with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures, many of whom have complex social, physical and emotional needs. Providing impartial and confidential services in advice, guidance and advocacy plays an essential role in encouraging and enabling people to manage their own lives.

The qualifications are relevant to those employed within, for example, Career Guidance, the Connexions Service, children’s information services, youth work and youth justice, housing and IAG partnerships, thereby enhancing the quality of service delivered to clients.

Level 2

The level 2 qualification is aimed at workers who are in administrative or customer service functions, but who are aiming to become practitioners.

Level 3

The level 3 qualification is aimed at practitioners who work directly with clients, disseminating advice and some level of guidance.

Level 4

The level 4 qualification is aimed at fully developed and experienced practitioners who provide guidance and formal advocacy.

These qualifications will ultimately offer learners a progression into other areas such as community development work, health and social care and youth work.
