Happy Hollie Has Much to Smile About!

Hollie Lovelady
NTC prides itself in giving young people opportunities and supports them on their learning journey with us. Hollie Lovelady’s life has changed dramatically since leaving school in 2006 and joining NTC. Hollie tried her hand at retail while trying to decide what career path to travel, then embarked on an Entry to Employment course at NTC in March 2007. Whilst studying on this course Hollie was made aware of the wide variety of additional opportunities and courses NTC offered and decided to undertake a course in Business and Administration at level 1. Hollie successfully secured a placement at Manor Court Surgery in Nuneaton and after just four months at the surgery, was offered a temporary position as Receptionist to cover maternity leave.

She has gone from strength to strength and is currently working towards her Level 3 Apprenticeship. Hollie has recently passed her driving test and has taken ownership of a brand new car, an achievement she is rightly proud of! Hollie’s work, her caring nature, her positive attitude and bright personality have gained her a promotion and Hollie began her new permanent post as Administrator on 1st June 2008. Of course our thanks go to Manor Court Surgery and especially to Lynn Slater, the Practice Manager, who has supported and believed in Hollie throughout. Congratulations Hollie; we wish you well in your post and continued success in your career.

Learner Feedback

“I have gained lots of confidence from my placement and completing my NVQ Level 1 Retail Skills. I am hoping to progress to an apprenticeship.”
Kadie Saliba

“It’s been great meeting new people and learning new skills so I can complete my Retail Skills Level 1.”
Emma Hartin

“I went to NTC not knowing what I wanted to do when I left school. By joining the E2E group I gained confidence and was able to try different work tasters with local employers, and eventually found my current job at the Dulux Decorator centre in Nuneaton. I have also been able to continue with my Level 1 and Level 2 Apprenticeship in Retail.”
Martin Tilson

“I was quite shocked when I found out that other assessment centres just set work and questions for the candidates and tell them to complete the work without much help. I had many one to one sessions with my NVQ assessor, which really helped iron out any problems that cropped up. She also gave me her phone number so I could call her if I was stuck with any of the work I was doing. She was always very helpful, especially as I was eager to get on with my NVQ. She has always given me the time I needed and seen me at times convenient to me.”
