Skills for Life Policy

"Our objectives are to ensure that every learner is treated as an individual and is fully supported, and encouraged, to reach their potential."

Do you think you have difficulties with literacy and/or numeracy? Do you want to improve those GCSE grades in English or Maths? Or, perhaps, you just want to get some qualifications in literacy or numeracy? Have you answered, “Yes!” to any of these questions? Then, perhaps, you need to come and see me.

I’m Paulette. I’m the Skills for Life Tutor. I am here to support you and guide you along the path to those certificates. These certificates will enhance your employment and career prospects or, they can help you gain a place at college on that course that you have always wanted to do.

Each learner has an individually designed learning programme to target those topics that are causing problems. You work with me in small groups on your own learning path, or I can arrange 1:1 appointments. You are involved in creating your own learning programme from start to finish. You will receive feedback and reviews at regular intervals to help you achieve your goals. On Thursdays we target those speaking and listening skills in an informal atmosphere. Ever wanted to learn to play poker? Then you definitely need to come to our Thursday sessions!
